- Only legal inputs remain available based on pins already knocked down.
- Use New Game to reset the score sheet.
The calculator supports a full 10-frame game and handles strike and spare bonuses correctly.
What Is Duckpin Bowling?
Duckpin bowling is a variation of traditional 10-pin bowling, most popular on the East Coast of the United States. Key differences include:
- Smaller, lighter pins
- Smaller balls without finger holes
- Three throws allowed in every frame
- Strikes are significantly harder to achieve
Because of the difficulty, players get three attempts per frame instead of two.
How Duckpin Scoring Works
Scoring is similar to regular 10-pin bowling, with one important difference:
- Strike (X) = 10 points + the next two rolls
- Spare (/) = 10 points + the next one roll
- Open frame = sum of the three throws in that frame (maximum 10 points)
If you clear all 10 pins using all three balls, that frame simply scores 10 points (it does not carry a bonus into the next frame like a spare does).
Note: This calculator can also be used for candlepin bowling, which follows the same three-ball scoring rules.
